Today’s video is Fast 5/8 Singles.

There is a check pattern of 5 on a hand R R R R R L L L L L…
or 10 on a hand R R R R R R R R R R L L L L L L L L L L….
followed by alternating singles filling in the beat.  So it looks like this:

The check pattern in between is this:

The video starts out at quarter note 192 beats per minute,  slows down to 120bpm, speeds up to 160bpm and back again 192bpm.  All with a pause in between to reset the metronome.
Once again I’m using my trusty Tama Rhythm Watch metronome set to play quarter notes and eighth notes.  The beat is set to play every 5th quarter note, so essentially it’s counting off a 10/8 measure.
